The idea

Most of the time, your homelab is perfectly fine. ProxWatch is built for the other times.

So instead of opening a dashboard "just to check," you get on with your day, and only hear from it when something actually needs you.

What it does

Everything you'd open a dashboard for, in your pocket.

Live status

Nodes, VMs and containers at a glance: CPU, memory, disk and temperature, updated as you watch.

History that goes back

Real graphs for CPU, memory, network and disk I/O, from the last hour all the way to the last year.

One-tap power

Start, stop, reboot or shut down any guest. Every action is confirmed with Face ID first.

Touch-first console

Real VNC and serial console access to your VMs and containers, straight from your phone.

Create & manage

Spin up VMs and containers, then clone, migrate or resize them. No laptop required.

Snapshots & backups

Browse restore points, back up on demand, and catch a failed backup before you actually need it.

It comes to you

The app you'll be glad you rarely open.

ProxWatch watches in the background and only speaks up when something actually changes, then hands you the fix right there in the notification.

Actionable
Start a stopped guest or retry a failed backup from the notification itself.
Quiet by design
Only real changes alert. The same issue never nags you twice.
Your channels
Optional ntfy and Gotify integration for alerts you already trust.
Snooze it
Mute an alert for a while; it comes back on its own when the timer's up.

Private by design

Your keys. Your network. No cloud in the middle.

ProxWatch talks directly to your Proxmox API over your own private network. Nothing routes through us, because there is no "us" in the path.

Scoped API tokens
No passwords are ever stored, just tokens you can revoke any time.
Read to watch, Face ID to act
A read-only token monitors; a separate biometric-gated token performs actions.
Built for Tailscale
Designed to run over a private network, never exposed to the internet.
Face ID app lock
Lock the whole app behind Face ID, so a borrowed phone stays just a phone.
# a read-only token, just for watching pveum user token add monitor@pve watch --privsep 1 pveum acl modify / --tokens 'monitor@pve!watch' --roles PVEAuditor # paste the token into ProxWatch. that's it.

Two minutes, one read-only token, zero passwords.

Questions

Good to know.

Which Proxmox setups does it support?

Proxmox VE and Proxmox Backup Server, single nodes or full clusters. You get nodes, guests, storage and tasks across the lot.

Do I need an account or the cloud?

No. There's no ProxWatch account and no cloud service. The app talks straight to your server's API and keeps everything on your device.

Is it safe to give it API access?

You create scoped API tokens: read-only for monitoring, and a separate biometric-gated one for actions. No passwords are stored, and you can revoke a token any time from Proxmox.

How do I reach my server away from home?

ProxWatch is designed to run over a private network such as Tailscale or WireGuard. It's not meant to expose your server to the public internet.

Is it really free?

Yes, it's free to use. No subscription, no upsell, no telemetry.

When's the App Store release?

It's in public beta on TestFlight right now while the roadmap is worked through. The full store release follows once it's stable.
